Complaint #9013 — Keerthana D.S

Filed: 11 Dec 2014  ·  Address: #G7,Bhanu Pride Apartments, Kacharkanhalli Main Road, Bangalore- 560084
On Monday,7th December 2014,I visited Apollo Clinic in Kormangala in Bangalore.I had a bad cough which I wanted treated.Upon consultation with a doctor, they ordered me to get four tests(one of which was an X-ray)and consequently, wrongly diagnosed me of pneumonia(this was on Wednesday). On Thursday, another doctor confirmed that it was a misdiagnosis.I only have a case of acute bronchitis.Though I thought I had pneumonia for only one day,it was scary, to say the least. My concern is not only the scary diagnosis, but the unnecessary tests, and the mental agony of thinking I have pneumonia.I think it's relevant to state that I didn't have any other symptom-no fever,no congestion-just a severe cough. Further, they put on strong antibiotics, something which was not necessary for what i actually have.I am trying to hold them responsible for their actions as many students from the university I study in go to this clinic.Students are always on a tight budget and shouldn't pay unnecessarily.
