Complaint #7116 — nitin jain

Filed: 27 Aug 2014  ·  Address:
Subject: Charged twice amount of Rs. 6,999 & Rs. 8,500 for different annual rental plans on my Vodafone connection. With utmost annoyance I am forced to file a consumer grief complaint against my mobile service provider \"Vodafone\". I have been a loyal Vodafone customer for the past 8 yrs. I have been using the Vodafone connection with the phone number – 9873188118 with a rental plan of Rs.199. As per a recent change in the company policy, I’d requested Vodafone to activate an annual rental plan for Rs.6,999 on my above mentioned Vodafone number in the month of March. Even after couple of follow ups, we did not receive any reverts/mails from the Vodafone executive (SPOC for Vodafone for our firm in this case). Meanwhile, assuming that there was no action taken with the last activation request, I enrolled for an alternate plan for my android phone with 3G services with an annual subscription of Rs.8,500. On March 20 , I was told that the plan for 3G couldn\'t be activated on my phone because I wasn\'t registered as a corporate user. Thus, I took the necessary actions to transfer my plan to a corporate connection. As a result in the next months’ bill, I was charged for both amount of Rs.6999 & Rs.8500 each. Upon several follow ups and mail exchanges, we were told by the executive that the Blackberry plan had been activated already in the month of March and that I was notified by text messages which were sent to my phone. My point is, as we all are aware there are not less than 4-5 messages / telemarketing texts that each one of us receives in the technology driven world today; who could keep a track of text messages being received from anonymous sources. Also, being a corporate connection, a formal notification/acknowledgement mail should have been sent to me regarding the activation of the plan. Additionally, as I had already been told that the plan for 3G couldn\'t be activated on my phone because I wasn\'t registered as a corporate user ;my concern here is, if my number wasn’t registered on the corporate plan; how could a plan for blackberry ARP be activated while I was still a non-corporate user? After repeated follow ups with several agents & Sr. Managers now, we’ve been confirmed that the amount of Rs.6999 will not be waived off from my account; the services of which we did not use at all! Hence, considering a loyal Vodafone customer for the last 8 yrs. and paying the entire bill amount regularly in due time, I request you to take some action against it and help me with this concern. I require your cordial assistance from your end to sort out this huge amount bill and also request to contact competent authority of Vodafone in this regard. Please keep me informed the status of my complaint in my above address.I\'ll be happy to share the mail evidence for your kind reference. Best Regards Nitin Jain
