*Issues with Obtaining Legal Heir Certificate* I am Shivprakash, a resident of Maharashtra. My father passed away earlier this year, leaving me, my mother and my sister as his legal heir. I am trying to obtain a Legal Heir certificate and have been running from pillar to post without much luck. I recently visited the tehsildar office in Mira-Bhyanadar (my area of jurisdiction) and I was informed by the officer there that I have to visit Thane Civil court for acquiring this certificate. On my visit to Thane, I enquired about the process with a lawyer there and it came to my knowledge that it is an extremely lengthy process, incurring huge costs to be paid to the court on top of a separate legal fees to the lawyer. I hereby request your kind attention on this matter and assist me in this regard.
