Consumer Redressal

Sub : Unfair means adopted by self made Chairman, Sabar View Apts, Khanpur, Ahmedabad. With deep regret I wish to bring to your notice that Mr R. Brahmbhatt [self made Chairman of Sabar View Apartments, Khanpur , Ahmedabad], is duping the residents of Sabar View Apts by demanding unjustified amounts on a regular basis. In this context I would like to emphasise that inspite of no business activity conducted at my residence, I was shocked to receive a notice from this Chairman demanding a sum of Rs.14700 [Xerox copy enclosed] towards business activity at my residence and car parking. I am a retired person having no business at my residence. Me and my family survive on the pension amount I receive every month. Other than this, he has even demanded car parking charge from me, though I have kept the car outside in the unsafe place and open heat and not below the building where other cars are parked. . As a member I have a right to park since the builder was paid the cost of the flat which included the super built-up area. Before this he demanded a sum of Rs.2100 towards lift repair from each flat. A xerox copy of the quotation, [without bill], was submitted to each flat owner demanding this unjustified amount from 31 flats, whereas the building has 32 flats plus one office on the ground floor, which this Chairman has taken possession from the builder. Hence the total strength comes to 33 units, but he has demanded from 31 flats only. Why? Even though monthly maintenance of Rs.350 is collected every month, this Chairman demands other amounts on a regular basis. One common window of Sabar View Aptts, located on the fourth floor has been completely destroyed by white ants. I had informed the society\'s office to repair/reconstruct it, but till date nothing has been done to rectify the same. As a result a huge gap has been left open leading to risking of lives. The lift of the building is not under Annual maintenance, hence when the lift stops functioning, it is not repaired for days together, leading to hardship especially for the elderly and senior citizens. There’s no safety in the building and stray dogs are a regular sight. Most of the building pipes are leaking. No proper maintenance. Please do the needful.
