Consumer Redressal

I purchased a Sony TV (KDL32CX520) on 01-02-12 for Rs 28200. The protection glass over the LCD screen got a crack in transit. I took the TV to an Authorised Sony Centre (ASC) M/s Tech Shop, Guwahati on 26-03-12. The ASC intimated that my set wont get warrantee as it was not a Sony India product (though I showed the Cash Memo). Then I asked for estimate for the repairing. The ASC gave me an estimate for Rs 10382 for replacing the full LCD Panel (LCD Screen plus Protection Glass). As the LCD Screen was fine and perfectly working, I wanted my TV back without servicing. The ASC released the TV only after I paid Rs 662. Then on 16-04-12, I took my TV to another ASC, M/s C.P.Enterprise. I agreed to the ASC demand for full panel replacement as I no longer wanted to watch a cracked TV. The Panel cost being Rs 9839, the total I paid was Rs 10513. Had only the protection glass changed, cost would have been much less. Thus I am a victim of Sony Service corrupt practices on above two occasions.
