Consumer Redressal

Myself and my wife had dinner in 32 Milestone Restaurant in Gurgaon on 13th July at 8.00 PM. After dinner the restaurant presented us the bill no 0193027 dated 13th July 2015 for Rs 1191/- The following is the breakup of the bill; Food Rs 875/- Vat @12.5% Rs 109.28/- Surcharge @5% Rs 5.47/- Service Charge @10% Rs 87.50/- Service Tax @5.60% Rs 52.90/- When I brought to the notice of hotel staff that Service Tax is charged on the Service Charge amount and not the total amount, they flatly refused to listen. Finally I paid the bill of Rs 1191/- by my debit card. Additional amount of Rs 60 was for one pastry we had ordered separately. Please initiate necessary punitive action against the hotel for overcharging. We should be paid damages for overcharging.
