Consumer Redressal

Iam presently working as Accounts Officer in Principal Agricultural Office,Sakthan Arcade,Thrissur.I have purchased a POPPY umbrella from Thrissur District Marketing& Processing Co-operative Society Limited,Sakthan Arcade,Thrissur on 18-06-2015 for Rs.264/-as per their invoice no 555(copy enclosed).But with in two days the following defects was noticed in the umbrella. 1.The Stitch of the cloth from on leg came off. 2.The stem gets stuck while folding. I then contacted Merchant asked them to replace the umbrella.But they refused to replace r refund.Instead they asked to contact the POPPY Umbrella company and get replacement at my cost.This is a clear violation of the consumer Rules in force. Therefore I request your good self to:- 1.Ask the firm to replace the umbrella or refund the money. 2.Realise as much compensation as is eligible to me 3.Impose such amount as fine as deems fit.
