I had recently applied for a Personal Loan of Rs 1 lac with HDFC Bank Ltd, Aundh Branch Pune.
To my shock It was rejected and i was told that my name appears in CIBIL and an Amount greater that Rs 1 crore stands unpaid to Standard Chartered Bank from 1998. This entry has been made on 27th March 2015, hence the rejection.
As far as my memory serves me I have paid up all the dues to SCB way back in 1998-99 and have proved the payment (Approx Rs 8-9K) to them on several occasions in the years 1999, 2000 , 2001.
In the following Years from 2002 till date I have taken Loans from Bajaj Finance Ltd, Bajaj Finserve & Kotak Mahindra for various assets, which have been repaid in full. Currently I have 1 loan of Rs 26k with Bajaj Finserve which will be ending in Dec 2015.
I would like you advise me on the further course of action that I must take on the Bank,
My untarnished image as a prompt payer is at stake, Please advise
