Dear All, Just wanted to highlight one of the recent fraud attempt incident which has just happened to me. My name is Sayed Sadiq Ali and I am using the Credit card and debit cards of ICICI Bank. Few minutes back at 5:34 pm today, i got a call from a gentleman named Aslam Sher Khan from the number +911142584800, who has claimed his assosiation with the company called GoIndiaBuyer.com. I am surprised that gentleman has all the details of my Credit Card except my CVV number. He tried to conveince me to confirm the verification details of my Credit card before dispatching the free gift which has been given on my Credit card due to some good usage history. As per him, the gift prize comprises of Lemon Tablet, 2 wrist watch of Ajanta, Rs.8K vouchers and some 3 days holiday package. He has confirmed my card number and other details in the verification process along with all the other details of card valid from and expiry dates and my DOB as well. Since, i got the doubt in the starting of the call itself due to the verification info he was looking for and the gifts they are giving me without any activity. While talking to him i realised the some fraud attemp and refused to give him the CVV number and check the details of the company and other stuff. Immediately during the call, i have checked the Go India buyer website and found exactly the same offer available on their website which was priced at Rs.12,999 for the same offer. After seeing the same i have asked Mr. Aslam to share the truth story and warned him not to try such frauds with anyone, i was amazed when he immediately started laughing and then disconnected the call. I really some major question now: How come people can attempt to use such cheap techniques to upsell there products? if i have not checked the website and if such repetative doubts doesn\'t come to my mind, i would have been cheated already. My Biggest worry is now for my ICICI Bank account as well, as how such details are out from their system where such telecallers and such promotional companies have all the details of my Credit card. Pls consider it as a written complaint against both the parties: goindiabuyer.com and ICICI Bank both. Requesting the concern teams, to pls take the corrective actions to avoid such fraud attempts and i am sure, many people must be facing it on a day to day basis. Thanks a lot.
